SB 218, ANTIFREEZE BITTERING ACT, PASSES SENATE COMMITTEE
Yesterday SB 218, the Engine Coolant Bittering Agent Act, sponsored by Senate President Michael G. Waddoups, unanimously passed the Senate Natural Resources and Environment Committee. Humane Society of Utah Executive Director Gene Baierschmidt, who testified before the Committee on behalf of the bill, expressed satisfaction with the results.

S.L. County Council “Breaks the Chains!” Approves Anti-Tethering Ordinance
The Salt Lake County Council has formally approved an anti-tethering ordinance proposed by the Humane Society of Utah. The new ordinance will allow pet owners to tether a dog no more than ten (10) total hours during any given 24 hour period of time.
